My Role
As the Lead Product Designer for Musdev, I played a pivotal role in shaping the platform from its initial conception to its successful launch and ongoing growth. My approach to the design process was rooted in a collaborative spirit, emphasizing user-centricity and iterative refinement.

Design Process
Discovery and Research
The initial phase focused on understanding the needs and aspirations of the Muslim tech community. We conducted extensive user research, including surveys, interviews, and user testing, to identify pain points and gather valuable insights. This research helped us define the core functionalities and user flows that would form the bedrock of the platform.
Key Findings / Proposed Solution.
Job Board: Users found the current method of job posting in WhatsApp channels to be disorganized and difficult to navigate. They desired a dedicated job board with filtering options, clear descriptions, and easy application processes.
Mentorship: Users sought a centralized platform to connect with mentors, requiring clear profiles with expertise areas, contact information, and availability schedules.
Blog: Users expressed a need for high-quality content pertaining to the tech industry, career development, and Islamic perspectives within the field.
Events: Users desired a dedicated platform for registering and receiving updates about upcoming Musdev events, including conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities.
Verdict Page: Users sought guidance regarding Islamic perspectives on ethical dilemmas and practical issues arising in the tech industry.

Information Architecture
Armed with user research data, we embarked on crafting a robust information architecture that ensured intuitive navigation and efficient information retrieval. We meticulously mapped out user journeys, defining clear pathways for users to achieve their goals. This resulted in a user-friendly interface that catered to diverse needs and skill levels.

Wireframing and Prototyping
The next stage involved translating the information architecture into tangible wireframes and prototypes. This iterative process allowed us to test and refine our designs with real users, ensuring they resonated with the intended audience. We utilized a variety of prototyping tools to visualize and test different design iterations, gathering valuable feedback that informed further refinement.
Usability Testing and Iteration
Throughout the design process, we conducted rigorous usability testing sessions to identify any usability issues and improve the overall user experience. We actively solicited feedback from users at various stages of development, ensuring that the platform met their needs and expectations.
Launch and Ongoing Iteration
Following successful beta testing, Musdev was officially launched. Since then, we have continued to gather user feedback and data to refine and enhance the platform. This ongoing iteration process ensures that Musdev remains relevant and responsive to the evolving needs of its users
Visual Design and Branding
Building on the established information architecture and user interface, we embarked on the visual design phase. We developed a unique and cohesive brand identity that resonated with the Muslim tech community. This included a carefully chosen color palette, typography, and imagery that conveyed the platform's core values of unity, empowerment, and progress.
